A born Townsville local Brendon has always been passionate and embedded in the local community, with a family history of participation and contribution to local sporting and social groups. Following graduation at Townsville Grammar School, Brendon began tertiary studies of Psychology at James Cook University, prior to changing direction to a Bachelor of Gaming and Interactive Entertainment at Queensland University of Technology down in Brisbane. Once completed, Brendon pursued his skills in management and technology within the Australian Public Service in Canberra. Following further study in the field of Project Management, Brendon represented consulting firms Deloitte and Oakton Digital Services in delivering projects ranging from business transformation through to technological change in both the Public and Private Sectors.
Brendon has since relocated back to Townsville and is leading the Mentally Healthy City Project for the Tropical Brain and Mind Foundation. A passion for community, technology, and a family history in mental health awareness and support is the driving force behind his pursuit of the role. Brendon brings experience in engagement, management and project delivery, which will enable him to give back to the city which has provided him so much, and that he holds closely to his heart.
